You can find a suitable accommodation to rent through real estate agents, but the price of real estate in Vietnam is considered rather high.
To rent a property in Vietnam expats would be expected to prepay at least 1- 3 month’s rental fee as a security deposit, or sign in a rental contract (if essential). There is no requirement for the prepayment of full rental period. Expats are required to provide a copy of their passport, visa and the address of their company where they are working, etc. Because landlords are required to report this information to the authorities when they rent out a property to an expat.
Buying a property in Vietnam
Expats are permitted to own a house in Vietnam and required to provide documents, evidence for entities or requirements pertaining to foreign entities qualifying for the homeownership in Vietnam.
Individual foreigners are able to own any property for a maximum of 50 years and extend their home ownership after 50 years, according to their need.
In cases, a foreign individual marries a Vietnamese citizen or a Vietnamese residing overseas, he / she will be allowed to own a stable and permanent house and have the same ownership rights as Vietnamese resident
